The Role We are looking for a sharp, decisive Underwriter to take full ownership of credit decisions.
You will assess risk, structure approvals, and work closely with sales, ops, and credit to move good deals fast — and stop bad ones faster.
This is a high-impact position where commercial instinct and pace are essential.
Key Responsibilities Lead underwriting on deals ranging from £25k to £750k.
Analyse financial statements and open banking data to evaluate creditworthiness.
Apply credit risk policies while identifying smart, commercial exceptions.
Structure offers that balance speed, risk, and commercial value.
Partner with the sales team to ensure fast decisions and clean execution.
Escalate and advise on complex edge cases and scenarios.
Maintain CRM accuracy and detailed underwriting documentation.
