THE ROLE
We're looking for a sharp, decisive & experienced Senior Underwriter to take ownership of credit decisions across our deal flow. You'll assess risk, structure approvals, and work closely with sales, ops, and credit to move good deals fast — and stop bad ones faster. This is a high‐impact role where commercial instinct, precision, and pace are essential.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead underwriting on deals from £25k–£750k
- Analyse financials, bank data, and open banking feeds to assess creditworthiness
- Apply credit risk policies while spotting smart exceptions
- Structure offers that balance speed, risk, and commercial value
- Work closely with the sales team to support fast decisions and clean execution
- Escalate and advise on edge cases and complex scenarios
- Maintain underwriting documentation and CRM accuracy
- Coach junior underwriters and support continuous credit policy refinement
