THE ROLE

The Loan Book Analyst will play a key role in overseeing and analysing Elect Capital’s loan portfolio and revenue performance across the business. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, this role sits at the centre of Elect’s funding and portfolio operations, ensuring the integrity of loan book reporting, revenue recognition, provisioning and funding analysis across a fast-moving lending platform. This is a hands-on analytical role focused on understanding the performance and movement of the Elect loan book on a daily basis. You will work closely with finance, operations and funding partners to ensure reporting is accurate, funding flows are reconciled, and portfolio performance is clearly understood and communicated. The role requires strong analytical capability, attention to detail and confidence working with financial and operational data in a fast-paced environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support reporting and analysis across Elect Capital’s loan portfolio, ensuring balances, movements and portfolio reporting remain accurate and complete.
  • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting on loan book performance, funding activity, collections, revenue and balance sheet movements.
  • Support revenue recognition and reporting across the portfolio, ensuring income is recorded accurately and consistently.
  • Support and facilitate daily funding operations, ensuring funding activity is reconciled and reported correctly.
  • Monitor portfolio performance and support provisioning and write-off calculations in line with internal policy.
  • Perform reconciliations across loan management systems, funding data and finance reporting outputs.
  • Work closely with funding partners, supporting reporting requirements, reconciliations and portfolio analysis.
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies, data issues and portfolio variances, ensuring issues are identified and resolved quickly.
  • Support month-end close activities relating to loan book accounting, accrued revenue and portfolio reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and operational processes as the business scales.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, underwriting, collections and operations teams to ensure strong visibility across portfolio performance.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • 2–5 years of experience in finance, financial analysis, lending operations or portfolio reporting.
  • Experience working within financial services, fintech or lending is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills with confidence working with large datasets, reconciliations and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of revenue recognition, balance sheet movements and financial controls.
  • Advanced Excel skills and comfort working across financial systems and operational data.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
  • A proactive mindset with the ability to identify issues, challenge outputs and improve reporting processes.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal stakeholders and external funding partners.
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred.
