Elect Capital is a fast-growing SME lender providing working capital loans, business loans, and merchant cash advances to small and medium-sized businesses. We operate across the UK, Australia, Canada, and the US, helping ambitious businesses access the funding they need to grow.

Our Mission

We exist to make fast, fair funding accessible to the SMEs that keep local economies moving — cutting through the slow, rigid processes of traditional lenders so business owners can focus on what they do best.

Our Values: C.O.R.E

  • Challenge — we push ourselves and each other to get better every day
  • Opportunity — we spot potential where others don't, in our customers and our people
  • Resilience — we stay steady and solutions-focused under pressure
  • Edge — we bring sharp thinking and a competitive drive to everything we do

The Role

We're looking for a Loan Analyst Team Lead to manage and develop our team of Loan Analysts, who are responsible for the first-line scrubbing and preparation of loan applications ahead of underwriting. You'll combine hands-on analytical leadership with day-to-day people management, ensuring the team maintains speed, accuracy, and consistency as application volumes scale. This is a great opportunity for an experienced analyst ready to step into their first or next leadership role within a high-growth lending business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of Loan Analysts, setting clear performance expectations and supporting their growth
  • Own the quality and throughput of the scrubbing process, ensuring applications are accurately prepared and handed off to Underwriting without unnecessary delay
  • Review team output and provide structured feedback, identifying gaps in accuracy or process understanding early
  • Design and refine workflows, checklists, and quality controls to improve consistency as the team scales
  • Act as the key link between the Loan Analyst team and Underwriting, resolving queries and escalations quickly
  • Monitor team capacity against application volume and flag resourcing needs to the Global Head of Sales
  • Support onboarding and training for new Loan Analysts joining the team
  • Maintain and report on team KPIs, including turnaround time and quality metrics

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience as a Loan Analyst, Credit Analyst, or similar role within SME or commercial lending
  • Prior experience leading, mentoring, or informally supervising a small team
  • Strong attention to detail and a track record of maintaining accuracy under volume pressure
  • Comfortable using data to manage performance — Excel/BI tool proficiency expected
  • Clear, confident communicator, able to give direct feedback and manage up to senior stakeholders
  • A genuine interest in credit and lending, with an eye for spotting risk early in the process

Bonus

  • Experience in a fast-scaling fintech or non-bank lender
  • Exposure to unsecured SME lending or merchant cash advances specifically

Our Offer

  • Competitive salary, reflective of experience
  • Performance-based bonus scheme
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Private health insurance
  • Genuine progression opportunities in a fast-scaling business
  • A collaborative, high-performance culture built on our C.O.R.E values
