Role Description
The Service Engineer will provide on-site installation, maintenance, and repair of fire and security systems for customers in and around Bristol.
This full-time role involves conducting routine inspections, diagnosing faults, replacing or repairing components, and ensuring systems meet current regulatory and British Standard requirements.
The role includes responding to service calls, completing accurate service reports, and liaising with customers to explain work carried out and recommend improvements.
The Service Engineer will also collaborate with the wider engineering and design teams to support system upgrades, contribute to continuous improvement, and uphold Elecsec Fire & Security's safety and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong technical skills in installing, commissioning, servicing, and fault-finding on fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intruder alarm systems.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and industry regulations related to fire and security systems, with the ability to apply them in day-to-day work.
- Experience in using diagnostic tools, test equipment, and system software for troubleshooting and performance verification.
- Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and build professional relationships.
- Good organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, maintain accurate documentation, and work with minimal supervision.
- Relevant technical qualification (e. g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent in electrical or electronic engineering) or demonstrated equivalent experience.
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel locally for on-site work and occasional out-of-hours support.
- Commitment to health and safety best practices and continuous professional development in fire and security technologies.
