We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nursing Home Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of Conewood Manor Nursing Home in Bishop’s Stortford. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering high-quality, person-centred care in a safe, supportive and welcoming environment. As the Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the home’s performance, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while driving excellence in care, staff leadership and operational efficiency.

  • Provide strong leadership to inspire and develop a dedicated care and nursing team.
  • Maintain high standards of care in line with CQC regulations and company policies.
  • Oversee recruitment, induction, training and performance management.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and clinical governance.
  • Lead staff meetings, appraisals and supervision processes.

Care & Service Delivery

  • Ensure residents receive person-centred care that promotes dignity, independence and choice.
  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments and regular reviews.
  • Promote a safe, engaging environment with meaningful activities and quality nutrition.
  • Address and resolve complaints effectively and professionally.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

  • Act as the Registered Manager with CQC and maintain full compliance.
  • Conduct regular audits and ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Keep up to date with legislation, policies and industry best practice.
  • Report incidents and notifications to regulatory bodies as required.

Operational & Financial Management

  • Oversee rotas, payroll submissions and resource allocation.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure data confidentiality.
  • Ensure the home is clean, safe and well-maintained.
  • Liaise with local authorities, regulators and healthcare partners.
  • Represent the home at inspections, meetings and community engagement events.

The experience and qualities we’re looking for

  • Proven experience as a Nursing Home Manager or Deputy Manager within a nursing home setting.
  • Strong understanding of CQC standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Clinical background preferred, ideally RGN with valid NMC registration.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
