Project & Operations team. Full time (although would consider PT for the right person), 100% remote (UK).
About ELE
ELE is one of the UK's leading copywriting and directories consultancies for the legal sector. We work globally with law firms and barristers' chambers, specialising in legal directory submissions (Legal 500, Chambers & Partners), website content, and strategic communications content. We're a small, remote team that takes pride in the quality of our work and the strength of our client relationships. We're ambitious, growing at a rate of knots, and working with some of the most respected names in legal.
The role
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Project & Operations team. This is a new role created as part of our strategy to strengthen how we deliver exceptional client work. You'll be the person who makes sure every project runs on time, every client gets a great experience, and nothing falls through the cracks.
You’ll own day-to-day project delivery across the agency, working closely with our Creative Operations Manager and a team of specialist legal copywriters and directories consultants. You'll be the operational client contact, managing timelines, chasing approvals, keeping our project management system (Teamwork) up to date, and making sure the team has what it needs to do great work.
You’ll have proper autonomy. You’ll shape how the agency operates as it grows, and you won’t be stuck waiting on layers of sign-off to get on with things. If you’ve managed projects in an agency environment, you know how to keep multiple clients happy at once, and you take genuine satisfaction in a well-run process, we’d like to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
- Setting up and managing projects in Teamwork: task workflows, milestones, timelines, resourcing.
- Managing day-to-day project delivery across multiple client accounts, keeping everything on time and on track.
- Acting as the operational client contact: sending drafts, chasing approvals, managing expectations, keeping clients informed.
- Coordinating work between senior and junior consultants, making sure the right people are working on the right things.
- Keeping the Creative Operations Manager ahead of problems, through weekly status reports and early escalation when something's drifting.
- Directing work to the Project & Operations Assistant and working with them to make sure it’s completed accurately and on time.
- Being an advocate and driver of our internal processes across all project activity, and helping the team work these.
- Identifying where workflows could be improved and raising suggestions.
When the role is going well, projects start cleanly and run on time, clients feel informed without having to chase, and the senior consultants can focus on the work rather than on chasing logistics.
What we’re looking for
Essential
- Proven experience as a project manager in an agency or consultancy environment. You’ve done this before, and you know what good looks like.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines without dropping anything.
- Excellent client communication: responsive, clear, warm, professional. You’re the person clients feel confident hearing from.
- Comfortable with project management tools (we use Teamwork) and committed to using them properly, not as an afterthought.
- A proactive mindset: you spot problems before they escalate, and you don’t wait to be asked.
- Process-minded: you see the value in doing things the agreed way, and you hold others to it too.
Desirable
- Experience working with legal directories (Legal 500, Chambers & Partners) or in the legal/professional services sector.
- Familiarity with Teamwork specifically.
- Experience working in a remote team.
