ELE

ELE is a leading specialist agency dedicated to providing exceptional copywriting and marketing services for the legal sector. As a B Corporation, we are committed to making a significant positive impact within the legal industry through our tailored content solutions. We work exclusively with legal entities, including solicitors and barristers, offering bespoke support to help them thrive in a competitive marketplace.

ELE’s Directories & Content Consultants are key members of our team. They work directly with law firms and barristers’ chambers to deliver high-quality, strategic legal directory submissions, and contribute to content-production projects including website copy, thought-leadership pieces and reports.

You’ll need to be confident writing and editing legal content to a high standard, with excellent project management skills and the ability to juggle competing deadlines. You will have strong experience of the legal directories process (primarily Chambers and Legal 500), and will be comfortable dealing with clients, managing your own projects and contributing to the smooth running of a fast-paced agency.

This is a mid-level role, ideal for someone with a solid grounding in legal directories and content but who is still developing their strategic experience and/or sector exposure. You’ll be supported by senior team members and project managers, and will play an active role in helping us deliver outstanding service to our clients.

This role requires a good understanding of the legal sector, a love of writing and a commitment to maintaining our values as a B Corporation.

Each DCC will be responsible for delivering the following key areas of work across their own client portfolio:

  • Working with our Senior Directories & Content Consultants to manage the annual legal directory submissions process for your clients, ensuring deadlines are met and quality remains high
  • Working with our project managers to coordinate timelines and workflows
  • Providing guidance to clients and answering day-to-day queries about directories and awards
  • Drafting and editing submissions for Chambers and Legal 500, and supporting client interview preparation
  • Working with our SDCCs to manage relationships with freelancers where relevant, including reviewing and finalising their work
  • Supporting on wider content projects, including legal website copy and thought-leadership content, where required

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrable experience working with legal directories, particularly Chambers and Legal 500, is essential
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with experience of writing for a legal audience
  • Ability to identify and position matters and work highlights to maximise directory impact
  • Strong project management skills and experience juggling multiple deadlines
  • A client-focused, proactive and collaborative approach to work
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities
  • Good attention to detail and a strong sense of initiative
  • Experience in legal marketing or BD would be a bonus
  • Familiarity with legal terminology and concepts is desirable
  • You must be based in the UK or pay taxes/be registered to work in the UK (unfortunately, at the moment, we cannot recruit individuals working outside of the UK without this)

Our Commitment to Social and Environmental Responsibility:

As a B Corporation, our DCCs are expected to champion ethical business practices and promote social and environmental responsibility. All employees of ELE are evaluated on both professional and impact targets, with performance appraisals including assessments of alignment with ELE’s values and commitment to sustainable business practices.

  • We also provide a tiered bonus structure for everyone, based on salary, if we exceed the agency annual targets.
