Join Our Team - Weekend Cook role available! Are you an experienced Cook looking for additional hours or for a part-time role? We are seeking dedicated professionals to join our team. If you have the experience, we want to hear from you!

About Us: Eldon Housing Association provides high-quality housing, care and support for the Elderly, with a strong reputation for delivering safe, comfortable and supportive homes. The catering team are responsible for delivering prepared meals in line with Hygiene and Health and Safety standards.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in the kitchen.
  • Excellent culinary skills with the ability to prepare a wide range of dishes.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation.
  • A passion for cooking and creating innovative meal options for customers.
  • An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, or willingness to do this.
  • Employment vetting, including references and full work history.
  • Food Safety Level 2 or 3, with a willingness to be further trained.
  • Professional and the ability to work with various backgrounds and cultures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and standards.
  • Assist in the development of new menu items, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
  • Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in the kitchen at all times.
  • Oversee kitchen operations, including inventory management and ordering supplies as needed.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in food preparation techniques and safety practices.
  • Monitor food quality during preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency across all dishes.
  • Assist with special events or catering services as required.
