Role
- Ownership of the Accounts Receivable function including:
- Managing the timely and accurate import of sales invoices into the finance system
- Reconciling receipts from customers into the correct accounts
- Credit control and query management
- Driving collaboration with the Customer Experience team to resolve queries and ensure timely payment
- Weekly/monthly reporting on the aged debt function
- Quarterly write off investigation
- Championing improvements in the accounts receivable process
Requirements - Essential
- Part qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA) or looking to start studying and keen to progress
- Solid understanding of core accounting functions, particularly AP, AR, accruals, and prepayments
- Strong knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets: up to and including vlookups
- Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn within a high-performing finance team
- Excellent prioritisation skills and the ability to plan and deliver activities according to an agreed schedule
- Team player: happy to work collaboratively and support where needed
- Ability to effectively communicate with other Elders, both finance and non-finance and with our customers/suppliers
- A keen interest in understanding the interaction of our systems and processes to ensure internal efficiency and scalability
Nice to have
- Experience in a complex billing environment
- Familiarity with automated payment methods (eg Stripe, GoCardless or automated billing platforms)
