Elcons is looking for an experienced, motivated, organised and client-focused Employment Tribunal Advocate to join our Legal Services team.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of employment tribunal cases, work closely with clients and legal professionals and play an important role in achieving the best possible outcomes.
What will you be doing?
- Managing cases from start to finish – overseeing all aspects of Employment Tribunal preparation, from initial ET1 and ET3 pleadings through to settlement or final hearing.
- Representing clients at Tribunal – attending preliminary hearings, case management hearings, directions hearings and final hearings as required.
- Advising on settlements – assisting with negotiations and settlement agreements, including COT3 agreements.
- Working with key stakeholders – liaising with clients, ACAS, solicitors, Tribunals and other legal representatives.
- Managing deadlines and case progression – ensuring Tribunal directions, procedural requirements and key deadlines are met.
- Building strong client relationships – keeping clients informed, providing clear updates and ensuring they feel supported throughout their case.
- Maintaining accurate case records – keeping case management systems up to date and ensuring files are managed effectively.
- Working collaboratively – supporting colleagues within the Legal Services team and contributing to the wider success of the department.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is confident, professional and passionate about employment law and advocacy, with the ability to manage multiple cases and build positive relationships with clients.
You should be able to demonstrate:
- Experience in Employment Tribunal case preparation and advocacy.
- Strong knowledge of Employment Tribunal procedures and processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- A professional, client-focused approach and the confidence to deal with a range of stakeholders.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.
The role
- Position: Employment Tribunal Advocate
- Location: Ripponden
- Working pattern: Full-time, Monday to Friday
- Hours: Full Time
- Travel: Attendance at Employment Tribunals, with occasional overnight stays where required.
