ELCAP, based in Easington Lane, Sunderland, is a Community Anchor Hub dedicated to improving the lives of local residents since 2001. Supporting approximately 3,000 individuals each week, ELCAP prioritises serving older adults, people with disabilities, and low‑income families. Through services like transport support, social clubs, lunch groups, and community activities, ELCAP addresses challenges like social isolation, health issues, and limited transportation options. ELCAP also serves as a welcoming neighbourhood hub, providing advice, a sense of community, and opportunities to foster connections and independence for all residents.
The Digital Inclusion Lead will design, deliver, and embed a comprehensive digital inclusion programme aimed at reducing digital exclusion across Hetton Ward. The postholder will provide tailored digital skills support to residents, coordinate partnerships, develop a volunteer “Digital Buddy” network, and ensure the programme meets its key performance indicators (KPIs) and long‑term impact goals. The role will focus on building confidence, skills, and access to digital tools, enabling residents to engage with essential online services, education, employment opportunities, and social connections.
