Transport Planner – day shift 4 on / 4 off Ashford, Kent outskirts This Transport Planner role is all about planning UK road freight routes for upwards of 20 refrigerated trucks: * maximising the load – you\’ll need excellent geographical planning too * planning efficient routes * updating client and order information onto Cargowise * collaboration with colleagues in Kent and Heathrow * providing excellent customer service * liaise with clients to discuss road freight bookings and iron out any issues Our client is highly successful, ambitious, growing and they need your Transport Planner experience to bolster their team. As Transport Planner your responsibilities are to ensure that efficient transport planning processes are in place to enable delivery schedules to be met and that customers receive goods on time. Taking the mandate from the sales and planning team at the Head Office, adding each order onto the planning sheet and managing this data to ensure maximised load and customer satisfaction. You will come with experience in this role and be able to demonstrate your capability around optimising the fleet, sourcing backloads and ensuring minimum empty mileage is achieved. For this role you will need to have an extensive knowledge of the UK road network with a very good understanding of Working Time Directives and EU Drivers Hours. Along with the relevant experience good IT skills are essential to enable you to plan, edit, report and store information accurately.
