Our client is looking for a “Sea Import & Export Freight Manager” to oversee the day-to-day management of their UK ocean freight division. You’ll lead a dedicated team, ensure operational efficiency, maintain regulatory compliance, and deliver top-tier service to clients.

As “Sea Import & Export Freight Manager” you’ll be doing:
- Managing all sea import & export operations across the UK
- Leading, training, and developing a high-performing operations team
- Ensuring accurate and timely processing of shipments, from booking to final delivery
- Overseeing compliance with UK customs, port regulations, and international trade laws
- Building strong relationships with carriers, agents, and clients
- Monitoring budgets, profitability, and operational KPIs
- Identifying opportunities to improve service and streamline processes
- Managing risks and developing contingency plans
What we’re looking for:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in “sea import & export” freight forwarding (import & export)
- Strong understanding of global shipping routes, Incoterms, and documentation
- Experience with UK customs clearance processes
- Proven team leadership and people management skills
- Excellent client-facing skills and commercial awareness
- Highly organised, with a sharp eye for detail
- Strong IT and data analysis skills (e.g. TMS, MS Excel, reporting tools)
