As part of our passionate Grounds Services team, you’ll help shape and protect the natural environment that defines the Center Parcs experience. Our teams are dedicated to delivering high-quality work while safeguarding wildlife, enhancing biodiversity and ensuring full compliance with environmental legislation and health and safety standards. This role offers a rare opportunity to influence both the creation and long-term stewardship of an entirely new village, with a strong focus on habitat management, conservation and the implementation of the Forest Management Plan. The project includes the afforestation of the site, planting hundreds of thousands of trees to create a thriving woodland to surround the village.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide supporting specialist on-site expertise throughout the construction phase, particularly in relation to Scottish conservation legislation.
  • Ensure all forestry, biodiversity and ecological commitments are delivered to Center Parcs’ high standards.
  • Support environmental compliance and wildlife protection measures during site development.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of “as-built” specifications across your areas of responsibility.

Once the village opens, you will:

  • Support the Grounds Manager in the effective day-to-day management and supervision of the Conservation team.
  • Ensure all activities align with company policies and legislative requirements.
  • Promote efficient, safe and disciplined working practices.
  • Help deliver an exceptional guest experience by maintaining the highest environmental standards.

Your working hours:

  • You will be contracted to work a guaranteed minimum of 150 hours over a 4-week period.
  • You may be asked to work additional hours in line with operational requirements.
  • Once the village is open, this role includes working a mix of shift patterns, on a rota basis, including some early mornings, weekends and bank holidays.
  • You will be required to participate in the department’s call-out rota as a senior representative of the department as required.

About you:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Countryside and Environment or a similar field or equivalent experience.
  • A wide knowledge of wildlife with interest in nature interpretation.
  • Proficient in operating horticultural, agricultural or forestry machinery.
  • Full Driving Licence, held for a minimum of 6 months.
  • Previous supervisory experience would be desirable.
