About the role
The senior project officer will be based at Jupiter Urban Wildlife Centre in Grangemouth. The post will facilitate a wide range of learning opportunities for local people so that they learn about and actively conserve the wildlife-rich habitat at our Jupiter space and in local community spaces. Activities include identifying species, habitat management, growing insect-loving plants and a wide range of vegetables, salad, fruit and herbs. Our long-term programme of regular facilitated natural learning activities has multiple benefits for our volunteers. People feel happier, more connected to people and places, they learn new skills and they feel restored by the wonderful diversity of plant and wildlife that Jupiter protects.
Experience
Applicants should have experience of practical horticulture and environmental work. Experience and understanding of working with volunteers and community involvement is also important. To fulfil the role, you must be resident in the UK and have the right to work in the UK.
