𝗘𝗟𝗕 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁 is partnering with a leading international engineering and infrastructure consultancy to appoint a Structural Engineer to join their expanding Buildings and Infrastructure team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a structural engineer with 3+ years experience to develop their career working on major transportation, industrial, energy and complex infrastructure projects across the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will join a highly collaborative design environment, supporting the delivery of technically challenging schemes from concept through to detailed design while working alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Our client is involved in some of the most significant infrastructure developments currently underway, with a diverse portfolio spanning rail, aviation, industrial and sustainable energy sectors. Current and upcoming projects include:

- Design and delivery of large-scale rail maintenance depots and operational facilities.
- Projects incorporating maintenance buildings, operational control centres, accommodation, offices and associated infrastructure.
𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 & 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
- Structural engineering for major energy infrastructure projects, including waste-to-energy facilities, plant upgrades and new-build developments.
- Growing portfolio of industrial and manufacturing projects, including process facilities, production plants and supporting infrastructure.

- Independent design review, technical assurance and structural verification services on technically challenging and high-profile developments.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲
This role offers the opportunity to work on complex, high-profile projects that shape critical infrastructure while developing technical expertise across a broad range of sectors and engineering environments.
As a Structural Engineer, you will support the delivery of structural engineering solutions on multidisciplinary projects and work closely with senior engineers throughout the design process.
𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀
- Assisting with the preparation of structural designs from concept through to detailed design stages.
- Producing structural calculations, technical reports, specifications and design documentation.
- Supporting coordination with civil, architectural, MEP and specialist disciplines to develop integrated engineering solutions.
- Contributing to project delivery while maintaining quality and programme objectives.
- Participating in design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination activities.
- Engaging with clients, contractors and stakeholders as part of project teams.
- Ensuring designs comply with relevant health, safety and environmental requirements, including CDM regulations.
- Developing technical knowledge through exposure to a wide range of projects and engineering challenges.
- Working towards increased project responsibility and professional development goals.
𝗥𝗲𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Approximately 3+ years' experience in structural engineering consultancy.
- Working towards Chartered status with IStructE or ICE.
- Experience in the design of building structures and multidisciplinary project environments.
- Familiarity with Eurocodes, British Standards and UK Building Regulations.
- Experience using structural analysis and design software such as Robot Structural Analysis, ETABS, Tekla Structural Designer or similar.
- Exposure to BIM workflows and digital delivery platforms such as Revit, ACC or ProjectWise would be advantageous.
- Understanding of construction methodologies and buildability considerations.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience within rail, transportation, industrial, energy or infrastructure sectors would be beneficial but is not essential, as training and support will be provided.
