Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership
- Lead and oversee the design and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion.
- Manage project teams to ensure the highest technical standards and efficient delivery of all project stages.
- Oversee structural calculations, analysis, and design reports, ensuring compliance with codes and regulations.
- Encourage innovative design approaches while maintaining rigorous quality assurance.
- Team Management & Development
- Manage, mentor, and support a team of engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and career development.
- Lead performance reviews and support professional progression towards chartership.
- Plan and allocate resources effectively across multiple projects to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team culture built on trust, communication, and shared success.
- Client & Business Engagement
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, architects, and contractors.
- Lead and contribute to bids, proposals, and tender submissions.
- Represent the consultancy at client meetings and industry events, helping to strengthen reputation and identify new opportunities.
About You
- Degree-qualified (MEng or BEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Chartered or actively working towards Chartered status (IStructE or ICE).
- Proven experience delivering and managing building structures projects across multiple sectors.
- Strong technical expertise in structural design, analysis, and modelling software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and sustainable engineering solutions.
