About the Role
Due to continued growth, our client is looking to appoint an Assistant Estimator to join their commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with estimating, quantity surveying or construction management experience who is keen to develop their career within a specialist area of construction.
Working closely with experienced members of the commercial team, you will receive full training and gain exposure to all aspects of project costing and commercial delivery. This role is office-based to ensure you can learn directly from the team and develop the technical knowledge required to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with design concepts, cost planning and price estimation.
- Prepare and review quotations and tender documents.
- Support negotiations and presentations for clients and subcontractors.
- Review building contracts and analyse terms and conditions.
- Carry out quantity take-offs and support project cash flow forecasting.
- Gather and assess client requirements and provide ongoing customer support.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients and support CRM activities.
- Conduct market research, including analysis of potential customers, projects and competitors.
- Contribute to business development and strategic growth initiatives.
About You
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Estimating or a related discipline.
- Previous estimating experience within construction or a transferable sector.
- Understanding of project costing and commercial principles.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Customer-focused with excellent organisational abilities.
- Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
- Eager to learn and develop within a specialist area of construction.
