The Dev Ops Team is about ensuring all the Opayo Web Applications are delivered through Development, Test and Productions environments in an automated Continuous Delivery manner. Opayo is a high transactional environment and applications are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The team ensures that the Opayo core applications are maintained, monitored and issues are responded to and resolved in line with departmental SLAs.
- Key accountabilities and decision ownership:
- Maintaining and supporting Opayo Payments Applications, using monitoring tools to detect failures and investigating/resolving issues and writing custom monitoring scripts
- Working with the development teams to help design new products and architecting new solutions
- Monitor Live environment to detect failures and investigate/resolve issues
- Work closely with the Development & Test Teams to deploy software releases
- Support production systems as required inside and outside of standard working hours.
- Reducing the overhead of BAU and manual tasks and replacing them with automated solutions
- Actively contributing to the process of continual improvement, with regard to self, team and the systems you support
- Actively participating in departmental projects as per the technology roadmap
- Working with 3rd parties and partners to ensure product compliance and stability
- Skills, know-how and experience:
- Must have:
- Extensive experience of AWS
- Extensive experience of scripting languages
- Extensive experience of monitoring tools (SumoLogic, New Relic)
- Extensive experience of automation tools (Puppet, Ansible, Terraform)
- Extensive experience of working in a DevOps support model
- Experience of working in a highly available, high transaction, production environment
- Demonstrable experience communicating in a fast-paced, results-oriented, team-based environment
- Preferred:
- Proven experience of payment gateways
- Key performance indicators:
- System uptime and downtime is in accordance with Operational SLAs
- Ensure all releases follow defined processes and procedures
- Participation in Oncall rota (additional on-call allowance)
- Objectives achieved through scripts maintained in source control
- Key stakeholders:
- Operations, Database, Infrastructure and Network Teams
- Agile scrum Teams.
- Security Team.
Location: The role offers a hybrid / flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
