An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Research Development Technician to join a leading engineering manufacturer. Working within the high-pressure engineering team, you'll be responsible for building, testing and validating prototype compressors, supporting new product development and helping bring innovative designs into production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and assemble prototype compressors, test rigs, jigs and fixtures.
- Machine and modify components to support product development.
- Carry out product testing and validation to ensure performance and specification requirements are met.
- Record and analyse test data, producing technical reports to support engineering improvements.
- Support the transition of new products from prototype through to production.
- Investigate product issues and recommend engineering improvements.
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality teams.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Product Design, or HND/NVQ Level 4 with relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in rotating machinery or machinery development.
