Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting an experienced Field Site Technician to join our well established client.
Purpose of position: Working within the utilities industry as a Field Site Technician, will undertake a variety of one-off site installations and project work on both polyethylene and metallic on water and gas systems.
Summary:
- Good organising skills coupled to a “can do” driven approach.
- Responsibility for own safety and safety of fellow workers on site in accordance with Health and Safety legislation.
- Demonstrate knowledge of Health Safety & Environmental requirements when working on sensitive sites, public highways and within the manufacturing base.
- Demonstrate good communication skills and experience of interacting with operatives and contractors on site.
- Ensure that work is carried out in a safe manner and to industry legislation and regulations.
- Work on both polyethylene and metallic systems.
- Be involved in planning execution and delivery of projects for customers in the installation of new utility systems.
- Work within a team to develop new techniques and successfully introduce them into the utility’s environment.
- Writing and reviewing RAMS.
- Assist in the construction, testing and commissioning of new connections onto live pipelines.
- Good communication and influencing skills to establish good working relationships.
- A good team player, co-operative, enthusiastic and willing to share knowledge.
- A flexible attitude, willing to take on new responsibilities and respond to situations as required.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- A mechanical engineering qualification (NVQ1).
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Good use of initiative when experience and competence permit.
- Knowledge of Health Safety & Environmental requirements when working on sensitive sites, public highway.
- NRSWA qualification.
- CSCS, Utility SHEA gas & SHEA water, EUSR Water hygiene card.
- First Aid (1 day) qualification.
- Driving licence.
Desirable Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Understanding of polyethylene and metallic gas and water systems.
- Experience of working in utility environment.
- Operation of a 360-degree excavator 10T and above.
- Operation of a 360-degree excavator 10T and above with lifting operations.
- Slinger, signaler, banksman qualification.
- Safe operation of winches up to 10T capacity.
- Safe operation of winches up to 40T capacity.
- EUSR Pipeline commissioning training.
Starting Salary: £34,856 Per Annum. This is a Full time, Permanent position.
