Due to continued growth and investment, our client is seeking a skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their established engineering team within a heavy manufacturing environment.
The Role:
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, you will play a vital role in maintaining and improving the reliability and performance of plant machinery and site equipment. You will be responsible for planned preventative maintenance, fault finding, breakdown repairs, installation work, and continuous improvement projects across the site. This is a hands-on role suited to an electrically biased engineer who thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment and enjoys problem-solving within a production setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out planned preventative electrical maintenance across a range of plant and production equipment
- Diagnose and repair electrical faults to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency
- Support installation, commissioning, and continuous improvement projects
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Complete Task Specific Risk Assessments and follow all Safe Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ensure all electrical equipment is safely isolated prior to maintenance activities
- Identify and report equipment defects, reliability concerns, and potential safety risks
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Environmental, and Energy policies
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to support plant performance and operational targets
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards within engineering and maintenance areas
About You:
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer within a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment
- A recognised Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification
- Strong fault-finding skills on industrial electrical systems and machinery
- Experience with motors, drives, control panels, sensors, and industrial automation equipment
- Knowledge of PLC fault finding would be advantageous
- A strong understanding of electrical health and safety standards and safe isolation procedures
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A proactive and reliable approach with strong attention to detail
- The ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
