Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Operator with experience in wood-based manufacturing to operate and maintain CNC machinery. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, programming, and running CNC machines to produce precision wood components for furniture, cabinetry, reception desks, IPS units, or other wood products.
Job Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC routers.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to determine machine settings.
- Load raw wood materials onto CNC machines.
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of cuts.
- Perform quality control checks on finished products and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machines (e.g., tool changes, cleaning, lubrication).
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and production teams to optimize manufacturing processes.
- Troubleshoot and correct machine or program errors during operation.
- Record production data and maintain logs of work completed via touch screens.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience operating CNC machines in a wood-based manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of woodworking tools, materials, and manufacturing techniques.
- Proficiency in reading technical drawings and using measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, etc.).
- Basic knowledge of CNC programming; familiarity with CAD/ALPHACAM software is a plus.
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills (Optional):
- Experience with software such as AlphaCAM.
- Knowledge of different wood species and their machining characteristics.
- Forklift certification or material handling experience.
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
- Experience with Anderson CNC machines.
- Experience operating Edgebanders or Beamsaws.
