The Role
We are currently recruiting for an experienced
Coded Steel Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Chesterfield.
Working within a busy production environment, you will be responsible for welding structural steel components to production drawings and work orders, ensuring all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out coded MIG/TIG welding on steel components to the required industry standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and work orders.
- Ensure all welds meet quality specifications and production requirements.
- Conduct pre-shift equipment checks and report any faults.
- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently.
- Achieve daily production targets while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE and RPE.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and undertake further training where required.
- Assist with other production duties as needed.
About You
- Current welding coding to
(or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience welding structural steel within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and work from engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety in a production environment.
- Reliable, motivated and able to work as part of a team.
- FLT licence and experience using welding manipulators would be advantageous.
