Technical Sales Engineer
Location: Alfreton, Derbyshire
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer to join a specialist engineering business providing bespoke solutions to international clients across the oil and gas, energy, chemical and process industries.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to combine technical expertise with commercial responsibility, supporting engineered solutions, preparing tenders and developing customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review customer enquiries, specifications and technical requirements.
- Support the design of bespoke engineered products and packaged systems.
- Prepare P&IDs, technical datasheets, quotations and tender documentation.
- Produce cost estimates and commercially competitive proposals.
- Support technical and contractual negotiations with customers.
- Identify new business opportunities and develop existing client relationships.
- Work with internal teams to ensure smooth contract handovers.
- Attend customer visits, exhibitions and industry events as required.
Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical, Process or Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng).
- Minimum of two years' relevant industry experience.
- Strong practical engineering judgement and understanding of mechanical principles.
- Awareness of fabrication, piping, materials, manufacturing and installation requirements.
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to work independently and within a team.
- Right to work in the UK.
Applications from experienced candidates are welcome, with appointment at Senior Sales Engineer level depending on experience.
