Due to continued expansion, we are recruiting an experienced Applications Engineer to join a friendly and collaborative team. You will play a key role in supporting the Sales and Process teams with the development of engineered packaged systems, bid preparation, and technical project delivery from concept through to contract award.

Your Role
You will be responsible for defining project scope, developing technical documentation, supporting bid preparation, and ensuring accurate and efficient engineering input into packaged system designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define project scope and objectives with Sales and Process teams
- Gather and interpret basic design data from clients and internal teams
- Develop and support Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs)
- Contribute to Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs)
- Prepare equipment lists and technical specifications
- Support material and energy balance understanding (with Process team input)
- Define equipment specifications and review supplier quotations
- Ensure compliance with project and technical standards
- Provide design and operational feedback to engineering teams
- Contribute to “lessons learned” for future projects
- Prepare full technical documentation packs for project handover
- Support cost estimation and supplier quotation analysis
- Attend client meetings and bid clarification meetings when required
What We’re Looking For
- Degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering (BEng/MEng)
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant industry experience
- Experience supporting packaged systems design
- Strong understanding of engineering principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commercial awareness and business acumen
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to perform under pressure and prioritise workload effectively
- Right to work in the UK
