A leading specialist rail and infrastructure business is looking for an experienced HSQE Advisor to join its team. This is a key role supporting Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards across UK rail operations. You will work closely with project teams, contractors and senior management, providing practical HSQE guidance, conducting inspections and audits, supporting investigations and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide HSQE advice and support across rail projects.
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments and investigations.
  • Support compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Review RAMS and maintain HSQE documentation.
  • Investigate incidents and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, training and HSQE awareness.
  • Monitor HSQE performance, KPIs and non-conformances.
  • Support environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors and project teams.
  • Travel to project sites across the UK.

Requirements:

  • NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S, environmental and quality legislation.
  • Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
  • Proven experience in audits, inspections and incident investigations.
  • Strong communication, influencing and report-writing skills.
  • Proactive, organised and confident working with teams at all levels.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Desirable:

  • PTS, Network Rail/infrastructure experience, TechIOSH/ISEP/CQI membership, ISO auditing qualifications, CDM knowledge and RM3 experience.
