Project Engineer
Location: Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join a growing Groundwater Engineering team, supporting the delivery of technically challenging groundwater, drilling and civil engineering projects across the UK and internationally.
This is a varied, hands-on role combining technical engineering, project coordination and site operations, making it an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career within a specialist environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of groundwater and civil engineering projects.
- Coordinate site setup, logistics and technical documentation.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, subcontractors and site teams.
- Monitor project progress, quality, costs and compliance.
- Prepare and review RAMS, method statements and QA documentation.
- Support project scheduling and programme tracking using Microsoft Project.
- Assist with technical reporting, data analysis, commissioning and handover.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across projects.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to specification.
About You
- 3+ years' experience in drilling, construction, civil or mechanical engineering.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Practical understanding of site operations and health & safety.
- Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Experience with groundwater systems, boreholes or pump installations would be advantageous.
- Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK and potentially internationally.
