This is an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician to join our team. elasticStage is building the world’s first on-demand vinyl and CD platform, unlocking physical music for the Digital Creator era. This role is a key part of our Operations team, responsible for supporting the smooth running of our manufacturing process. The Maintenance Technician will monitor production equipment, carry out routine maintenance, and diagnose and resolve technical issues to minimise downtime.
This is a hands-on, night-shift role focused on maintaining and troubleshooting production equipment, ensuring consistent performance, and supporting continuous improvement on the shop floor, while working closely with engineering and production teams. Our shift schedule follows: 4 nights on – 4 nights off.
Responsibilities:- Oversee and monitor vinyl record manufacturing machines to ensure smooth production.
- Perform regular maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on machinery to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate closely with R&D engineers to integrate new technologies and processes.
- Monitor and manage the production system capacity to meet demand and optimise efficiency.
- Plan and schedule machine usage and maintenance to maximise output.
- Ensure the product meets quality standards through rigorous inspection and testing.
- Implement corrective actions when defects or issues are identified.
- Maintain detailed records of machine performance, maintenance activities, and technical issues.
- Management of critical spare parts.
- Use basic diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, or pneumatic issues safely.
- Experience in assembling complex mechanical assemblies.
- Experience in optimising processes and procedures to improve output.
- Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery.
- Analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues quickly.
- Knowledge of electrical systems and safety.
- Understanding of lean practices and implementing them.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Knowledge of CMMS systems.
- Understanding of safety, environmental, and industry-specific standards.
- Level 2 BTEC / NVQ Diploma or apprenticeship in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance & operations.
- T-Level technical qualification in maintenance, installation and repair for engineering and manufacturing.
- Working towards Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in engineering maintenance (electrical/mechanical pathways).
- Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical principles and safe working practices.
- Excellent teamwork skills to work effectively with R&D, software, and production teams.
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate faults, causes and solutions.
- Ability to work independently and effectively.
- Clear written communication for reports and SOP writing.
- Experience in mentoring/coaching assembly operators and giving training.
- Managing support from external contractors and suppliers.
