What Is The Role: Developers and community matter. Our users and contributors have helped ensure that the Elastic Stack (including Elasticsearch, Kibana, Beats, and Logstash) is more than just code — they are open source projects that people love to use. Are you the kind of person who is keen on sharing technology with the world and supporting our global user-base? Your activities as a Developer Advocate with a focus on content creation include:

  • Publish deep-dive videos that connect search, vector databases, and agentic workflows.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends in search and AI to cover what's new and exciting for our users.
  • Build open-source demos and example applications on GitHub that combine Elasticsearch with developer and AI tools.
  • Contribute to Elasticsearch Labs, Elastic.co, and our YouTube channel.

The DevRel team's mission is to educate and help our users succeed by being an expert in Elasticsearch and the Search + AI ecosystem. If you read this far and think: "that's me!" — You probably won't need to read any further, and we should have a conversation. But if you doubt the experience we expect you to have, the following should help clarify.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Create high-quality technical videos focused on search, AI/ML, and Elasticsearch as a platform. This covers foundational concepts, sophisticated use-cases and research trends.
  • Explore and explain how Elasticsearch integrates with other tools and protocols in the ecosystems (e.g., LLM creators, frameworks, and Cloud providers).
  • Prototype and publish sample applications showing end-to-end Search + AI use cases.
  • Bring a creative twist to Elastic's content creation to keep existing users engaged and capture new audiences.
  • Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on your hands-on experience and community interactions.

What You Bring:

  • A proven track record of creating highly technical and engaging videos — share your best work with us! This is mandatory in the application.
  • Strong technical background and experience in an engineering role.
  • Empathy for the community to help them solve their issues, provide internal feedback to make Elastic’s products better, and fix problems where possible.
  • Comfortable working with a highly distributed team.
  • Experience working self-driven and self-organizing.
  • Excellent spoken and written communication skills in English.
