Elastic is looking for a Senior Product Manager to join the Elastic Security product team with a focus on workflows and automation. In this role, you will report to a Director of Product Management and help define how Elastic customers automate work across complex systems. This is a growth role for a product manager who enjoys building horizontal capabilities, thinks in systems and flows, and is motivated by reducing human toil through well-designed automation.
What You Will Be Doing
- Own and evolve core workflow and automation capabilities used across Elastic Security, including orchestration, triggers, actions, integrations, and control flow.
- Design automation that supports end-to-end security workflows, while remaining flexible enough to apply to adjacent and future use cases.
- Partner closely with engineering to build scalable, extensible automation primitives that work across diverse tools, data sources, and environments.
- Conduct deep customer discovery with security teams to understand operational patterns, pain points, and where automation provides the most leverage.
- Translate workflow needs into clear product direction, roadmaps, and measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate across product areas (Security, Platform, Integrations, UX) to ensure workflows feel cohesive, intuitive, and composable.
- Help define positioning and differentiation for Elastic’s approach to workflows, particularly relative to traditional SOAR tools and bespoke automation.
- Support customer-facing engagements, including roadmap discussions, design partnerships, and feedback sessions.
What You Bring
- Think in terms of systems, workflows, and outcomes, not just individual features.
- Balance flexibility and power with usability, guardrails, and operational safety.
- Work effectively with engineers on integration-heavy, event-driven systems.
- Communicate complex concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders.
- Make progress in ambiguous problem spaces through iteration and learning.
- Experience with workflow automation and orchestration platforms, whether in security, IT, DevOps, or adjacent domains.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, integrations, and API-first systems.
- Understanding of security operations concepts and workflows (or the ability and curiosity to learn them quickly).
- Knowledge of cloud platforms and services (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience with distributed systems and system-to-system communication.
- Awareness of the broader ecosystem of automation tools, platforms, and approaches.
- 4–6 years in product management or a closely related technical role.
- Experience building products that span multiple systems, integrations, or teams.
- Experience owning roadmap areas that require balancing platform capabilities with concrete user workflows.
- A strong interest in automation, systems design, and product craftsmanship.
- Empathy for operators and practitioners working in high-signal, high-volume environments.
- Comfort working in a distributed, fast-moving organization.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- A BS/MS degree in engineering, computer science, information security, or equivalent practical experience.
This role is a strong fit if you
- Have built or owned workflow automation, orchestration, or integration-heavy products, whether in security, DevOps, IT operations, SaaS platforms, or infrastructure tooling.
- Enjoy working on horizontal capabilities that power many use cases, rather than narrowly scoped features.
- Think in terms of flows, states, triggers, and outcomes, and care deeply about how systems behave in real operational environments.
- Are comfortable working on products where flexibility and guardrails must coexist.
- Have partnered closely with engineering teams on complex, distributed, or event-driven systems.
- May not be a security expert today, but are excited to learn the security domain and apply your automation experience to high-impact workflows.
- Care about reducing manual toil and helping teams scale through better systems, not more people.
