Elastic Agent Builder is our latest, recently launched platform that empowers developers to rapidly build and deploy powerful, production‑ready AI agents directly on top of Elasticsearch—leveraging the world’s most sophisticated search relevance, vector database, and retrieval‑augmented generation capabilities. As an Engineering Manager for this high‑impact product, you’ll shape the future of AI agent development at Elastic, tackling exciting challenges in agentic workflows, hybrid search, personalization, and scaling context‑driven intelligence for the world’s largest organizations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Drive technical vision and execution for the Elastic Agent Builder platform, focusing on agentic workflows, hybrid search, personalization, and scaling context‑driven intelligence.
  • Lead and manage a dedicated team of engineers—perform frequent 1‑on‑1s, deliver quarterly reviews, lead All‑Hands discussions, onboard, coach and mentor new and existing teammates.
  • Collaborate with other Tech, Team, and Product leads over a product roadmap—act as a crucial and communicative part of an engaged and upbeat team.
  • Help navigate customer experiences with our extraordinary, empathetic support teams—work with all types of people and roles.

What You Bring

  • Experience managing a team of people at scale; comfortable with flexible people management, rapid growth, servant leadership, and performance management.
  • Experience with remote management—understand how remote management differs from in‑office management and how to optimize for a distributed environment.
  • Experience as an individual contributor in an engineering role—have shipped quality code into delightful applications and understand how good teams build systems.
  • Bonus: Experience in building and shipping AI‑based products that operate reliably at enterprise scale.
  • Measured and articulate written and spoken communication skills—craft concise and expressive thoughts into emails, issues, investigations, documentation, onboarding materials, and so on.
  • A curiosity about learning new tools, workflows and philosophies that can help you grow and thrive in an environment that drives toward change.

Compensation

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary. This role does not have a variable compensation component. The typical starting salary range for this role is $154,000—$243,600 CAD. This range is a guide and may be modified in the future. In addition to cash compensation, this role is eligible to participate in Elastic's stock program and includes a company‑matched Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with dollar‑for‑dollar matching up to 6% of eligible earnings, along with a range of other benefits.
