The role:
The successful candidate can thrive in a fast paced and self-sufficient environment. The successful candidate will support the international division and requires an organised and methodical approach to their work along with good attention to detail and the ability to work on their own initiative.
Do you possess previous experience as a Freight Forwarder air, ocean or road? Are you driven and organised? Do you have excellent numeracy and customer service skills? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
There is a development plan & training in place for candidates to develop the basic product, process & organisational skill to progress within the company.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of a Freight Forwarderinclude, but are not limited to:
-Basic understanding of incoterms.
-Negotiating rates with preferred suppliers.
-Process information accurately to agreed service level.
-Gain an understanding of our product range, processes & logistic platforms.
-Interpret instructions from various colleagues and identify any issues arising.
-Communicate, liaise, and negotiate (internally and externally) to ensure customer orders are implemented correctly with 100% accuracy.
-Supported by the logistics team, thesuccessful candidate will takefull responsibility for the overall execution of their transactions, from initiation to completion.
-Strong organisational skills for planning schedules, journeys and loads.
-Identify opportunities and suggestions for improvements to the way the department works
-Understand and promote our company values and demonstrate role model behaviours
-Have a positive approach to the constantly changing requirements of the department and the company and perform any additional tasks as may be required
-A passion for people providing them with the best service, always
-The ability to read your customer and really understand their needs
-Be tenacious, adaptable, and resilient
The Person
-Previous freight forwarding experience, including air and/or ocean with exposure to Bills of Lading and/or Air Waybills, would be a benefit?
-Understanding of export processes and documents beneficial but not crucial, e.g. Certificate of Origin, Letter of Credit, PVOC Inspection, etc.
-Strong communication skills (written and spoken English) and good telephone manners are crucial.
-Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft platforms).
-Excellent organisational skills.
-Experience following all tasks through to completion.
-Demonstrate acute attention to detail.
-Previous experience of operating successfully in a fast-paced and demanding environment
-A friendly approach over the phone and email
-Ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage time effectively.
