Your Role: Sales Consultant
As Sales Consultant, you will build trusted relationships with dairy and beef farmers, Sales Managers, and branch teams across merchant and veterinary trade accounts to grow Elanco's presence and performance in the region. In this field-based regional role, you will combine account management, sales planning, technical product support, and customer education to deliver profitable growth and strengthen the Elanco brand with key accounts and farmers alike. You will also work closely with internal cross-functional teams to identify market opportunities, support customer needs, and drive strategic account plans.
Your Responsibilities:
- Deliver annual sales targets, profitable sales volume, and strategic account objectives across assigned regional accounts, using account business plans to guide activity and performance.
- Build and grow relationships with dairy and beef farmers, merchant branches, veterinary trade stakeholders, and strategic accounts through effective account management, customer needs analysis, and value-based selling.
- Lead joint planning with strategic account partners to set performance objectives, financial targets, and short- and long-term milestones, while balancing time between branch-based account activity and direct customer engagement.
- Provide high-quality sales support and facilitate customer education, including Continuing Professional Development (CPD) sessions, by applying product, industry, and technical knowledge relevant to animal health and agriculture.
- Partner with internal technical, marketing, business, and management teams to address local market needs, develop new business opportunities, and ensure customer complaints and product-related issues are reported in line with company guidelines.
What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Life Sciences, Veterinary Science, Business, or equivalent professional experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of sales experience, ideally in animal health, agriculture, veterinary, or a related industry.
- Strong commercial business acumen with a track record of delivering sales results and managing customer relationships across regional accounts.
- Technical learning agility, with the ability to understand, apply, and communicate scientific or product information to customers and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated interest in the animal health industry and its stakeholders, including farmers, veterinarians, and nutritionists, with knowledge of agriculture and livestock production or a clear willingness to build that knowledge quickly.
- Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
