Position description: The maintenance planner owns the maintenance plan for their area of responsibility, working across short-, medium- and long-term horizons to develop and deliver the maintenance plan. This includes aligning resource and timing with Engineering and Production partners to ensure maintenance tasks are planned, resourced, and executable on time.

Responsibilities

• Short, medium & long-term maintenance planning
• Build and publish weekly schedule in liaison with operations; maintain changes daily
• Develop cost estimates for planned and corrective work
• Maintain long-term maintenance plan identifying outage requirements; collaborate with Engineering and Production to ensure PM due dates are achieved
• Collaborate with Maintenance Manager in preparing turnaround plans for large outages
• Ensure all aspects of maintenance planning are considered (access, spare parts, external resources, service contracts, etc.)
• Check availability of parts, tools, etc. for maintenance work
• Work with Engineering Supervisors to ensure sufficient staffing for maintenance activities
• Ensure risk assessments and method statements are in place for planned/unplanned work; escalate non-conformance as appropriate
• Organize service visits for equipment with Maintenance Support Engineers
• Walk down area during job plan creation with >1 week horizon
• Follow up on purchased engineering materials, services and spares to ensure availability; escalate issues as appropriate
• Complete purchase requisitions and goods receipts for purchased engineering materials
• Ensure all work is planned in accordance with Elanco SHE rules, Safe Systems of Work, site maintenance & Elanco Engineering procedures

Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

• Manage the CMMS interface for the MRO cycle: align outages to PM due dates, update task lists, estimate hours, schedule work orders, enter hours, maintain parts lists, file uploads
• Review and update planning/scheduling SOPs as required
• Provide technical coaching on CMMS and maintenance processes to operators and team members

Preparation of Reports and Metrics

• Report metrics in daily maintenance huddle, weekly planning cycle, and CRP resource planning meetings
• PM look ahead: maintain short and long-term view of PM & CM tasks
• Escalate risk of overdue PMs and plan to complete
• Provide cost estimates for planned and unplanned work; measure and report actuals for CM & major PM tasks

Learning & Development

• Keep own Learning Plan up to date; ensure training is current
• Share specialist skills and knowledge
• Undertake training as appropriate and assist in training new personnel
• Maintain own competency matrix & role RACI

Qualifications

• Engineering degree / HND / HNC or equivalent with experience in engineering planning in a manufacturing environment

Additional Requirements

• Experience of UK SHE legislative framework for manufacturing operations
• Understand high-level Basis of Safety of processes and facilities
• Experience in engineering operations in a regulated environment (e.g., COMAH, GMP, PSSR, DSEAR, LOLER, LOTO, PTW, L8)
