About the Role

Maintenance Engineering Apprenticeship at the Speke site – an entry‑level position that offers hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced pharmaceutical manufacturing environment while working toward a nationally recognised qualification.

As part of the "One Team" culture, you will be mentored by industry experts and learn to keep life‑saving production lines running safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine checks and servicing on complex pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment (Preventative Maintenance).
  • Assist senior engineers in diagnosing and fixing mechanical and electrical faults to minimise downtime (Troubleshooting & Repair).
  • Adhere to strict Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards and Quality compliance (GMP) at all times (Safety First).
  • Contribute to projects that improve site reliability and operational excellence (Continuous Improvement).
  • Use internal systems such as SAP to log maintenance activities and track spare parts (Documentation).

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) including Maths, English, and a Science or Technical subject.
  • A genuine interest in how things work and a desire to build a career in engineering.
  • A proactive, "can‑do" attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a diverse team.
  • Punctual, dependable, and committed to completing both on‑the‑job training and academic studies.
