Your role:

We are looking for an Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to support and optimise manufacturing systems at our Speke site. In this role, you will take ownership of OT systems across their full lifecycle — from design and implementation to maintenance and continuous improvement — ensuring reliable, compliant, and efficient operations. Your responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and ownership for OT systems (PLC, DCS, SCADA, Historian, Machine Vision)
  • Ensure systems operate safely, reliably, and in a validated/qualified state
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for system and process issues
  • Drive automation improvements to enhance safety, quality, and efficiency
  • Support and deliver OT lifecycle activities (design, configuration, testing, validation, maintenance)
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Engineering, and IT to resolve production challenges
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert during audits and inspections
  • Contribute to and support capital projects, including system design and commissioning
  • Maintain system documentation, standards, and compliance requirements
  • Support cybersecurity, system integrity, and data management
  • Coach and mentor team members and support knowledge sharing across the OT community

What You Need to Succeed (minimum qualifications):

  • Degree in Engineering, Automation, or related field
  • Experience in OT / automation within a manufacturing environment

What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications):

  • Experience in pharma, chemicals, or other regulated industries
  • Exposure to cybersecurity or system integration
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical teams

Technologies You’ll Work With:

  • DeltaV DCS (Operate, Control Studio, Batch, Diagnostics)
  • Allen Bradley PLCs, Rockwell (FTView, Studio 5000, RSLogix)
  • Aveva PI System (AF, Data Archive, Interfaces)
  • Machine Vision systems
  • Integration technologies (OPC, SQL, ISA S88/S95)
