A leading packaging manufacturer is looking for a permanent Quality Manager to join their management team. My client is a major supplier into blue chip companies covering several different industries including food, automotive, construction and aviation. With a turnover of circa £20m, they have seen success year on year and aim to continue growing. The main area of responsibility will sit firmly in quality but will also cover health, safety and environmental areas of the business.

  • The ideal applicant will be able to communicate at all levels, developing a good rapport with all personnel across the manufacturing and warehousing sites.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring standards including BRC, ISO 9001 and 14001 and FSC are met.
  • Accountable for completing internal audits in relation to compliance assurance, audit and risk objectives and resolving any areas of non-compliance.
  • Management of environmental impacts and clearly identifying best practice methodology.
  • Close working with all departments to ensure H&S procedures are adhered to.
  • Chair H&S meetings to ensure a safe working culture is adopted throughout.
  • Able to visit customers to develop a seamless service to uphold the reputation of the company.

You must have the ability to offer effective and realistic solutions in a timely manner. Ideally, you will have a credible work history within quality (not necessarily in management), exposure to H&S risk assessments and be IOSH or similar trained. Experience in being involved in reporting and investigating quality issues with a continuous improvement mind-set is required. Experience of BRCGS and FSC Standards are not essential as support will be given in these areas, however we welcome candidates who have previously worked in or have awareness of these.
