I am very excited to be partnered with El Rayo Tequila again on this exciting opportunity to join their marketing team as an On-Trade & Events Executive. If you’re looking for a role that keeps you close to culture, creativity and the hospitality scene — building genuine partnerships, creating memorable experiences and helping bring a beautifully crafted tequila brand to life — this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Work with a tequila brand designed by creatives, for creatives, inspired by Modern Mexico and built around art, design and collaboration. £32,500 salary 10% discretionary bonus London based - 2 days per week in the office.
Why this role?
Be part of a fast-growing, creatively driven tequila brand celebrating modern Mexican culture, craft and collaboration. El Rayo is built on quality, authenticity and creativity — working with designer Mario Ballesteros and artists based in Guadalajara to create a brand that celebrates the energy, craft and cultural richness of modern Mexico. You’ll be joining a team that values creative partnerships over traditional brand activations, focusing on meaningful collaborations with venues, artists, chefs, DJs and cultural tastemakers.
This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who thrives on being out in the trade, spotting opportunities, building relationships and helping shape how a brand shows up in culture.
The Role…
As On-Trade & Events Executive, you’ll play a key role in bringing El Rayo to life across London and beyond. You’ll support the planning and delivery of a dynamic activation calendar, helping ensure El Rayo shows up in the right places, at the right moments, with creativity and authenticity at its core. Working closely with venues and partners, you’ll help develop and execute events — from bar takeovers to festivals and cultural partnerships — creating experiences that genuinely resonate with consumers.
Support brand training across key accounts, helping venue teams understand and champion El Rayo’s story, while ensuring the brand is consistently represented to a high standard in trade. Festivals will be a big focus, supporting planning, delivery and evaluation to ensure each event builds brand awareness and delivers meaningful learnings for future activity. You’ll also support targeted sampling initiatives, helping introduce new consumers to the brand through carefully selected venues, partnerships and cultural spaces.
This is a hands-on, people-focused role that requires strong organisation, attention to detail and a natural ability to collaborate creatively.
The Company…
El Rayo is a premium tequila crafted from 100% slow-grown, hand-harvested agave sourced from the mountains of Jalisco, Mexico. But El Rayo is more than just a tequila. It’s a creative platform celebrating modern Mexico — working with artists, makers and cultural collaborators to spotlight the creativity and craftsmanship coming out of Mexico and beyond. As a growing brand, El Rayo is passionate about building a team that shares its curiosity, creativity and ambition to do things differently.
You…
This role would suit someone who wants to work with a culturally driven and creatively ambitious brand. You might currently be working as a sales role, bartender, events executive, or in a trade marketing/activation role and looking for your next step. You’ll be naturally sociable, culturally curious and passionate about music, food, art and design. You’ll have a strong eye for detail, enjoy collaborating with others and take pride in delivering exceptional brand experiences. An existing network within London’s hospitality or creative scene is helpful but not essential — attitude, energy and creativity matter just as much.
If you love the scene, enjoy creating experiences people remember, and want to help grow a tequila brand that genuinely does things differently, we’d love to hear from you.
El Rayo is an equal opportunity employer and values passion, potential and perspective above traditional boxes. If you would like to find out more about this role please get in touch with Jake Merrick-Wren - Jake@marvelfmcg.co.uk.
