Support the Director of Sales & Marketing (DOSM) with leading, directing and motivating the Sales Team. Ensure annual sales budget is achieved and surpassed. Responsible for extending the management standards and quality guidelines in the department set by the DOSM and to assume complete management responsibility for all activities of the department in the absence of the DOSM, in line with the hotel's mission, vision and objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the DOSM in the management of the Sales Team especially in the absence of the DOSM.
- Attend internal meetings and conference calls, client appointments and client events in the absence primarily of the DOSM.
- Responsible for key account management based on assigned portfolio, ensuring revenue maximization, achievement of personal targets and increasing fair market share versus competitor set.
- Responsible for prospecting new accounts.
- Responsible for all segments of assigned geographical markets.
- Provide supervision, leadership and direction to ensure efficient and effective operation of sales department.
- Ensure hotel achieves maximum potential in yield management & sales revenue, profits and market share in the target markets.
- Detailed knowledge of all services provided by the Hotel and all relevant facts and figures of the hotel.
- Responsible for SMART contracting of all RFP accounts to ensure optimum yielding during annual rate negotiations.
- Constantly seek to improve and develop any new business opportunities communicating and implementing such plans and objectives.
- Attend trade shows, exhibitions, conferences and updates on the marketing trends and promote the Hotel internationally.
- Participate in strategic planning and execution of sales activities according to hotel’s objectives and directives.
- Monitor sales production and adjust sales activities, account coverage and sales priorities as necessary to achieve plan goals.
- Identify sources of group business to the hotel and establish solicitation programs to maximize sales.
- Establish account qualification criteria and use market research to identify priority markets and accounts, assign sales to ensure coverage of all major accounts.
- Conduct periodic reviews, i.e. quarterly and half-yearly to review sales/product mix, expenditure & profit performances and recommend to management for implementation of corrective actions and revenue enhancements.
- Conduct site inspection for hotel.
- Entertainment of clients in our F&B outlets when and where possible.
- Increase in overall hotel business conversion percentage.
- Establish strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business.
- Prepare sales-related documents throughout the sales process.
- Create and manage company profiles in the PMS Opera System, ANAIS System.
- Daily update of sales report in ANAIS System, DSR and show around report.
- File and retrieve documents and reference materials in the shared drive.
- Conduct research and collect data to prepare reports and documents.
- Utilise efficient sales strategy for the maximization of hotel revenue.
- Respond to feedback from clients and provide after-sales support when required.
- Maintain adequate communication with other departments in the hotel so that the needs of clients can be anticipated and met in an organised manner.
- Manage customer budgets to maximize revenue and meeting customer needs.
- Make best efforts to upsell, drive additional revenue and incremental business for each event.
- Attend all briefings, meetings and trainings as assigned by management.
- Maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
- Require working beyond office hours, weekends/public holidays as and when is required by the Management.
- Be aware of the hotel fire & life safety/emergency procedures.
- Perform other reasonable duties assigned by the Management.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records.
- Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, & Powerpoint.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and highly reliable in thorough execution and follow-through.
- Ability to work well in stressful & high-pressure situations.
- A team player & builder.
- Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times.
