We are proud to be working in partnership with a chemical processing plant at the forefront of efficient and safe production. Following an internal promotion, we are now seeking an experienced Shift Team Leader to join their operations team.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing day‑to‑day leadership and oversight of the shift operations team, ensuring the plant is operated safely, reliably, and efficiently.
- Maintaining plant performance within defined operating limits while ensuring full compliance with all HSE legislation, company policies, and site procedures.
- Overseeing site safety systems, including the permit‑to‑work process, and acting as a High Voltage Senior Authorised Person responsible for issuing permits, carrying out switching operations, and managing isolations.
- Offering technical guidance and supervision to both in‑house and contractor personnel as required.
- Delivering effective training, coaching, and performance monitoring of shift staff to ensure all personnel are competent and authorised to carry out their responsibilities.
- Ensuring the correct implementation, administration, and continuous application of safe systems of work and health and safety policies.
Essential Requirements
- Experience working in a process driven environment – Chemical, Petrochemical, Oil and Gas, Energy From Waste, Power Stations, CCGT, Nuclear or Similar Industry.
- A minimum of an engineering level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
- High Voltage Senior Authorised Person status, which would be a strong advantage.
- A recognised health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH (preferred).
