We’re looking for a hands-on Commercial Gas Engineer to join a growing team responsible for maintaining and improving large-scale heating and industrial plant rooms across multiple sites. This is a varied role where you’ll be working on plant equipment in commercial environments, carrying out maintenance, responding to breakdowns, and helping improve system performance and reliability.
What you’ll be doing:
- Carrying out planned maintenance on mechanical plant equipment (pumps, valves, heat exchangers, pressurisation units)
- Diagnosing faults and completing repairs across heating and plant systems
- Responding to breakdowns and restoring services as quickly as possible
- Supporting small projects and plant upgrades
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with procedures
- Keeping accurate maintenance records and reports
- Taking part in an on-call rota
What we’re looking for:
- Experience working in plant rooms or similar environments
- Experience maintaining commercial mechanical systems (heating, pumps, pipework, etc.)
- Understanding of fault finding and repair on plant equipment
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Gas, Plumbing, or Mechanical discipline
- Willingness to work towards or hold commercial gas qualifications
