About the Role:
We have partnered with a UK-based solar company to support the clean energy transition. Due to continued portfolio growth, we are seeking a skilled Solar PV Technician to support the operation and maintenance of utility-scale solar sites. As a Solar PV Technician, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient maintenance of large-scale ground-mounted solar farms. You will play a key role in ensuring maximum plant availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing preventative and corrective maintenance on utility-scale solar PV systems
- Fault finding and diagnostics on inverters, transformers, LV/HV systems
- Testing and inspection (AC/DC systems)
- Thermographic inspections and string testing
- Monitoring plant performance and responding to alarms
- Completing detailed service reports and maintaining accurate records
- Supporting HV switching operations (where authorised)
- Ensuring full compliance with UK HSE and electrical safety standards
Requirements:
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or Engineering
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Proven experience working on utility-scale solar PV sites
- Strong fault-finding ability on inverters and AC/DC systems
