Resource & Staffing Manager – London, UK. Office: London (2-3 days a week, Hybrid). Contract: Permanent or fixed-term contract. Expected start date: March 2026.

Why are we recruiting?
As part of our continued growth in the UK, we are strengthening our operations and staffing capabilities to support our consulting teams. You will oversee staffing for a consulting population of approximately 60-70 consultants, supporting both current delivery and planned growth. We are looking for a Resource & Staffing Manager to own and optimise the planning, staffing, and deployment of consulting teams. This role is critical to ensuring the right consultants are allocated to the right projects at the right time, while supporting sustainable growth, team development, and operational excellence. The role is based in our London office and reports directly to the UK General Manager, working closely with Operations teams, Senior Leadership, HR, Finance, and IT.
Your responsibilities
- Resource & staffing management
- Own and manage consultant staffing across client projects, ensuring optimal allocation aligned with skills, availability, and development goals.
- Anticipate staffing needs and support workforce planning and recruitment forecasts in partnership with HR.
- Monitor utilisation, bench time, and project demand to maintain balanced and sustainable team performance.
- Review project pricing assumptions to ensure delivery feasibility and margin alignment with Finance, Sales, and Operations.
- Establish scalable staffing frameworks, including operating models and team structures.
- Act as the central decision point for staffing trade-offs and allocation conflicts, escalating where appropriate.
- Operational performance & delivery
- Oversee the operational follow-up of client engagements to ensure effective resource deployment and smooth delivery.
- Define and monitor staffing and delivery KPIs, providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Identify staffing risks and capacity constraints through pipeline visibility, proactively recommending solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement of staffing processes, tools, and ways of working.
- Leadership & cross-functional collaboration
- Partner with Partners, Directors, and Commercial teams to support portfolio planning and resource strategy.
- Collaborate with Finance on forecasting, revenue visibility, and margin performance.
- Strategic & transformation initiatives
- Support leadership in evolving delivery models and operational practices to enable growth.
- Lead or contribute to internal initiatives focused on process optimisation, governance, and tooling.
- Prepare operational insights and materials for management and leadership committees.
- Stay informed on best practices to continuously strengthen staffing maturity.
Your profile
- Experience & Technical skills
- University degree in a relevant field i.e. (Business, Engineering, Economics, or equivalent) OR Proven experience in resource management or staffing within consulting or professional services strongly preferred.
- Experience supporting a consulting population of 50+ consultants is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of consulting delivery models and project-based organisations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills preferred.
- Comfortable using resource and staffing tools (e.g., Napta), or able to learn quickly.
- Skills & capabilities
- Excellent, highly organised with the ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, consulting environment.
- Strong analytical mindset with confidence using KPIs, dashboards, and operational data to inform decisions.
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Comfortable balancing immediate operational demands with longer-term strategic objectives.
- Proactive, structured, and solutions-oriented with excellent communication skills.
- Leadership-oriented, with the confidence to challenge constructively and support teams.
