This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-profile, privately owned marina and boatyard business operating across two prestigious Central London locations. This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for day-to-day operations, commercial performance, and customer experience across marina berthing, residential moorings, and boatyard services.
The General Manager will take overall accountability for the safe, efficient and profitable running of the business. You will lead a multi-disciplinary team, ensure exceptional service standards for berth holders and residents, and maintain full compliance with all relevant marine, safety and environmental regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Overseeing all daily marina, mooring and boatyard operations across both sites
- Driving commercial performance, including occupancy, pricing, and ancillary revenue streams
- Leading, developing and motivating on-site teams
- Managing budgets, financial reporting and cost control
- Ensuring high standards of health & safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, residents, contractors and regulatory bodies
- Handling operational issues, disputes and emergency situations with professionalism and sound judgement
- Overseeing maintenance of facilities, infrastructure and equipment to best-in-class standards
- Enhancing customer experience and fostering a strong sense of community among berth holders and residents
The Candidate
We are seeking a commercially minded and operationally strong leader with the credibility and presence to manage a premium waterside business. You will bring:
- Proven leadership and team management experience in a relevant environment (marina, marine, leisure, property, hospitality or similar operational setting)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, stakeholders and regulators
- Solid business acumen, including budgeting, revenue generation and financial oversight
- Excellent problem-solving capability, particularly in operational and customer-facing situations
- Practical understanding of facilities management and maintenance
- Knowledge of marina operations, the relevant regulatory environment and industry best practice
