My client specialise in the running of luxury hotels, currently operating 16 hotels, ranging from 2 airport ‘express’ to a selection of high specification hotels in Central London. Focused on providing an exceptional stay for their guests, they have a 12 person procurement team that sources all food, products, equipment and services for the group.
The Role:
The key purpose of the role is to leverage the supply chain to maximise value and deliver competitive advantage for the hotels in support of the group’s strategic objective, from driving the right choices through facilities management and professional services related categories. This role will, reporting directly into the Group Head of Procurement, be responsible for developing and executing category strategies across these key spend areas. They will play a leading role in supporting the business to deliver maximum value and financial returns across our operations, and ensuring they are sustainable. They will be expected to deliver target benefits and leverage previously untapped spend areas, promoting the effective management of suppliers to sustain value throughout the life of the contract.
The Candidate:
- Full CIPS (Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply) qualified preferred but not mandatory and educated to degree standard or equivalent
- Proven track record of sourcing and managing spend in Facilities Management categories like M&E, lift maintenance, HVAC, fire & life safety, cleaning, waste, pest control, security and Professional Service related categories including Finance, HR, Temp Labour agencies, Legal and Marketing, and ideally within a Hospitality and or Operational spend role.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to connect with, and influence senior stakeholders at all leadership levels
- Results oriented and highly commercial
- Strong supplier and category management capabilities, analytical capabilities and negotiation skills
- Strong communicator, proactive, self-starter and independent worker
- Good technical appreciation of the range of purchasing categories
- Experience in developing category strategies and strategic sourcing
- Ability to work to set budgets and timelines aligned to project schedules
