All four of our partners (Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM) bring specialist expertise in the design, construction, operation, financing and maintenance of railway networks, including the construction of one of Europe’s latest high speed rail projects.
We’re looking to recruit a Landscape Clerk of Works to join our team based in Aylesbury. In this role, you will have oversight of delivery of landscape design packages ensuring quality adherence to specification, checking workmanship, quality, materials ensuring all design requirements are met the objectives (landscape, engineering, ecology etc). On site and in the office. You will assist in the management oversight of early landscape and ecology mitigations areas, attending programme meetings, auditing and checking works to support applications for payment.
You will be responsible for interpretation of technical drawings and designs to facilitate delivery through site teams and sub-contractors, management of delivery tracking and progress reporting, reporting against ITP criteria and unblocking barriers to delivery ahead of potential delays. You will also assist in the management of the design change process liaising with designers and stakeholders to close out changes to tight timescales and you will be involved in route wide, understanding design requirements in terms of the Environmental Statement ES and relevant U&As.
Part of this role is assurance of inclusion of key landscape design elements, checking health and safety, and ecology requirements are met. You will be contributing to the assurance that the design specification (SCEW) requirements are adhered to on site and provide evidence to assist in the management of early warnings, general communications with sub-contractors. In addition, you will assist in the maintenance of programmes for reporting and demonstrating compliance with applicable legislation and industry best practice. Assist with the implementation of BS EN ISO14001 certification and audit against the standard and internal procedures.
You will work in collaboration with the wider Environmental Team, client, designers, community, stakeholder and public relations managers to ensure the programme is achieved and actively promote good practice relating to environmental management & sustainability, sharing best practice and learning.
About You
- Qualification in engineering / landscaping / environment or another relevant field.
- Member / Associate of an appropriate professional body.
- Strong practical understanding of landscape construction specification (SCEW) and delivery, preferably within the context of infrastructure projects.
- Ability to interpret and scrutinise complex design, identify and resolve conflicts on the ground.
- Ability to use GIS related application, produce reports and gather evidence for compliance and assurance purposes.
- Good inter-personal skills and be able to develop and maintain good relationships and networks.
- Ability to build relationships across the contractor and subcontractor organisations.
- An understanding of ecology and ecological management in a construction context.
- Holder of SSSTS/SMSTS.
- Driving licence is required for this role (this is a site focused role, you must be able to drive to multiple project sites, manage multiple work sites and work streams).
