About The Role
EKFB is a joint venture of Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall, supporting the HS2 high‑speed rail network. The role of Sub Agent in the Structures team at the Southam site involves managing the construction strategy, coordinating kick‑off meetings, preparing pre‑commencement documentation such as Method Statements, Environmental and Quality Plans, construction programmes, and overseeing procurement and design delivery schedules.
The Sub Agent liaises with the Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, materials and temporary works, ensuring activities are carried out to the required standards, programme and budget. Responsibilities also include managing the site engineering team, setting performance targets, developing engineers, and coordinating construction operations to meet contract, safety, health, environment and quality (SHEQ) requirements.
Key deliverables are the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, as well as contributing to financial forecasting, site measurement, material reconciliations and cost control.
Key Skills and Qualifications
- Completed HNC or degree in Construction/Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in site engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
- Prior experience in large‑scale structural works (critical).
- Effective team‑working skills.
- Full UK driver’s licence and access to a private vehicle.
- SMSTS certification.
- Valid CSCS card – Black, Gold, White, White/Yellow, Experienced, or Red Provisional (6‑month).
Pre‑Employment Checks
Standard employment checks will be carried out, including references, ID, driving licence verification and right to work in the UK. BPSS security clearance is required as part of the onboarding process.
