About The Role

Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial and BAM (EKFB) are proud to have been appointed by HS2 to deliver civil engineering works across an 80km section of the new high speed rail link between the Chiltern Tunnel and Long Itchington Wood. We are currently recruiting for an Environmental Advisor to join our NC2A section of works based in Aylesbury.

In this role you will be an environmentally engaged individual to form an important part of the Environmental Technical Management team, assisting in driving forward the environmental handover process. This position requires someone who is passionate about the environment with an interest in engineering infrastructure projects and also someone with an ability to develop relationships with various engineering and environmental specialists.

You will assist in ensuring that key environmental designs are delivered on time and in collaboration with the wider design team, including engineering disciplines, attendance at Interdisciplinary Design Review meetings, where appropriate. You will assist in the management of early warnings and attend risk reduction meetings to assist in their resolution.

You will also support in the maintenance of the programme, ensuring deliverable tracking is kept up to date, for reporting and demonstrating compliance with applicable legislation and industry best practice. You will review Short Notice Changes (SNCs) from an environmental perspective and respond accordingly. Assist in the management of design changes with identified environmental risk. Assist in the identification of suitable evidence for the closure of U&As and in the management of deliverables required for handover and completion associated with each contractual requirement technical (CRT) within the validation and verification matrix (VVM).

Part of this role is also to assist in the tracking of departures required in relation to the Environmental Minimum Requirements, assisting in gathering site information for coordination with specialists. Work with Planners and the Engineering team to ensure that the programme is effectively communicated and collaboratively work to ensure that environmental timescales are built into the programme and risk is understood.

In addition, you will support supply chain activities to raise environmental and sustainability standards. Working in collaboration with the wider Environmental Team, client, designers, community, stakeholder and public relations managers to ensure the programme is achieved.
